Menuki
Menuki pins made with molds taken from genuine Samurai sword parts. Menuki are beautiful ornaments braided into each side of the sword handle. They are also an integral part for the sword; In the event that a Samurai must reach for his sword in the dark he is able to tell, by the placement of the menuki, which side of the blade is upward.
Bowls
Wooden bowls made of ash depict the traditional patterns of the Coast Salish Indians famous for their beautiful sweaters. Also used on the bowls is the "flying goose" pattern taken from traditional Klingit Indian design. Salish women wove clothing and blankets using the hair from a now extinct breed of small wool dogs that resembled a Pomeranian. This white, brown and black hair was mixed with goat wool and goose down to incorporate traditional designs of animals, birds, sea creatures and geometric shapes.
